Quick answer

The safe way to use this guide

The official description says defeated enemies provide Souls and that power upgrades help players tackle harder content. Because rates and costs are not publicly documented, the useful approach is to measure a short set of comparable runs, use the median or a conservative average, and enter that value into the calculator. Re-measure after a world, army or update change.

Step-by-step

Put the next session to work

Use one observable change at a time so your own result stays useful after updates.

  1. 1

    Choose a repeatable run

Pick a Gate, wave segment or other combat loop you can repeat under similar conditions. Record your starting Souls before entering and avoid changing your army during the sample.

  2. 2

    Record at least three results

Write down ending Souls and calculate the gain for each run. A single lucky or unusually short attempt can distort the estimate, so compare several runs before choosing your observed average.

Useful check: If results vary sharply, use the lower typical value for safer planning.

  3. 3

    Copy the current upgrade cost

Read the exact cost from your current game screen. Costs can change by upgrade level or update; do not reuse a screenshot or a value from another player without checking it.

  4. 4

    Calculate affordability and runs

Enter current Souls, target, observed cost and Souls per run in the progression calculator. It will show remaining Souls, affordable upgrades and an estimated run count using only your numbers.

  5. 5

    Re-measure after a meaningful change

A new world, stronger army, update or Rebirth may change the loop. Start a fresh sample instead of treating the old rate as permanent.

If you're stuck

Diagnose the block before spending again

Your run results swing wildly

Keep the same world and army, collect more samples and plan with the lower typical result until the route becomes consistent.

You can afford an upgrade but still cannot progress

Check whether the block is combat, a world lock or another requirement before spending simply because the calculator says a cost is affordable.

Common mistakes

What usually makes the answer less reliable

Calling one run the fastest method

One run cannot separate luck, route time, enemy differences or an update effect. Use several comparable attempts.

Mixing different worlds

Rates from different worlds or Gates may not be comparable. Keep each sample tied to one repeatable route.

Treating a cost as permanent

The next upgrade may cost more or refer to a different system. Copy each cost from the current prompt.

Ignoring the actual block

An affordable upgrade is not automatically the right one. First identify whether progress is blocked by combat, a requirement or a different system.

Questions

Raise Your Shadow Army Souls & Upgrades FAQ

What is the fastest way to get Souls?

No universal fastest route is verified. Measure several comparable runs in the content you can clear reliably and compare the observed Souls against the time spent.

Does the calculator know official Souls rates?

No. It uses the Souls-per-run number that you enter from your own observations.

What upgrade should I buy first?

Public sources do not provide an optimal order. Choose a change tied to your current block, then replay comparable content to see whether it helped.

When should I measure again?

Measure again after a world, army, upgrade, Rebirth or major game update changes the conditions of the run.
