Quick answer

Four shadow families are confirmed

Skeletons, Zombies, Guards and boss units are the families named by the official Roblox description. Approved screenshots also show mixed armies made from skeletal, green undead and armored figures. That supports a family reference, but it does not prove that every visual variant is a separately named unit or that one family has a fixed combat role.

Use this page to check what each family is known for at the source level. For a decision about what to keep or build around, open the army comparison and team checklist. It deliberately avoids exact power tiers until comparable stats exist.

Confirmed families

What official sources actually show

Each card states one useful fact and the most important unknowns to re-check in your current game.

Skeletons

Listed by the game

The official description names Skeletons as one of the undead-warrior families players can raise.

Needs an in-game check

Individual names, damage, rarity mapping, cost, survivability and unlock order are not published in the sources checked.

Zombies

Listed by the game

The official description names Zombies, and approved screenshots show large green undead in mixed armies.

Needs an in-game check

A frontline or tank role may look plausible in screenshots, but it is not confirmed and is not used as a ranking fact.

Guards

Listed by the game

The official description names Guards, while approved media shows dark armored figures among larger armies.

Needs an in-game check

Armor does not prove defense behavior. Stats, roles, rarity, acquisition and costs still need an in-game source.

Boss units

Rare and powerful

The official description says players can unlock rare, powerful bosses to fight for their army.

Needs an in-game check

Boss names, drop rules, rates, relative strength and mode suitability are not yet verified.

Rarity status

Common → Mythic is visible; the middle is unknown

One approved Roblox promo image explicitly contrasts a Common shadow with a Mythic shadow. That is enough to confirm the two endpoints and the game's rarity-chase framing. It is not enough to publish a complete ladder, attach odds, name evolution materials or state that every family reaches every rarity.

When your game screen shows an intermediate rarity, record the exact spelling and what changed. Until a complete public table exists, treat rarity as a collection and upgrade signal—not a substitute for measured performance.

Army planning

Use a coverage checklist, not a fake optimal ratio

  1. 1. List what you own. Separate family names from individual visual variants.
  2. 2. Pick your current goal. Farming, surviving a Gate and chasing a boss may need different evidence.
  3. 3. Test one change. Compare the same wave or Gate before and after a swap.
  4. 4. Keep the result local. One run does not prove a universal tier or role.

Questions

Shadows and rarity FAQ

What shadows are confirmed in Raise Your Shadow Army?

The official game description confirms Skeletons, Zombies, Guards and rare powerful boss units as broad families. It does not provide a complete named roster.

Is there a complete Raise Your Shadow Army rarity list?

Official approved media explicitly shows Common and Mythic endpoints. The intermediate rarity ladder, odds and effects were not verified, so this page does not fill the gaps with guesses.

Which shadow family is the strongest?

Current public sources do not provide comparable stats or controlled tests. Use the tier-list page for an evidence-first checklist, not a fabricated strongest-family claim.

How do I get boss units?

The official description connects powerful bosses with army collection, but the exact acquisition steps and rates are not documented in the checked public sources. Follow the current in-game prompt.
